A little over two decades ago, the internet started hitting mainstream consumers and the way we communicate began to radically change. A decade later, the ubiquity of broadband and mobile communications once again radical changed both personal and business communications. The questions today - is Web 2.0 yet another tipping point for communications?
Web 2.0-based social applications such as MySpace and Facebook are widely popular all over the world, spanning many generations. It appears to be another phenomenon that can’t be ignored by any service provider making purchasing decisions that are also thinking about future proofing their network.
TaquaWorks is the solution thanks to BroadSoft’s Xtended Developers program. TaquaWorks customers have access to an ecosystem of third-party applications that extend functionality into many of these new social communications applications. In addition, the same independent developer community has already introduced many new applications that solve real world residential and business challenges. Integration is already available with Facebook, SalesForce.com, Google, Linked-In, Plaxo, WebEx, and Flickr. There are also a variety of innovative applications such as voicemail speech-to-text that are now available to enhance service provider offerings.
More and more application are being added all the time and there are no limitations to what applications can be developed using Open Web 2.0 as part of the BroadSoft Xtended Developers program for TaquaWorks.
